UC309 – Research for Resilient Communities and Environments is a course focused on developing practical research skills to support stronger, more adaptable communities and ecosystems. Students learn how to design and carry out applied research that addresses real-world environmental and social challenges, such as climate change, biodiversity loss, hazard risk, and sustainable urban development.
The course emphasises interdisciplinary thinking, community engagement, and evidence-based decision-making. Through project work, students build skills in research design, data collection and analysis, and communicating findings to support resilient environmental planning and community outcomes.
Rooted in ecological care and community connection, we grow native plants that restore local ecosystems, support biodiversity, and strengthen Canterbury’s natural heritage. We value sustainable practices, social responsibility, and working with our local community to nurture the landscapes we all share.
